Between September 14 and 26, 2026, the world will witness the launch of an unprecedented international initiative, the Canada-Africa Strategic Program (CASP). Hosted in major Canadian cities, this significant event will gather African and Canadian leaders, multinational corporations, policymakers, investment institutions, municipal mayors, and development agencies over three vibrant weeks. It will feature strategic discussions, industry-focused missions, exhibitions, and investment matchmaking sessions. The 2026 CASP aims to serve as a platform for strategic parliamentary and diplomatic coordination, promoting bilateral and trade investments, trade corridors, and cross-sector collaboration within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and Canada’s trade strategies, as detailed in the Canada-Africa Economic Cooperation Strategy (CA-ECS) protocol.

However, Canada and Africa have the potential to strengthen their partnership by focusing on sustainable development, inclusive industrial growth, and shared prosperity. Their aim is to build stronger ties, address challenges, and share opportunities. Canada has supported Global South countries, especially in Africa, through initiatives that promote economic growth, social equity, and lasting prosperity.

Canada promotes the SDGs across Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia through aid, trade diplomacy, and partnerships. Over the last twenty years, it has deepened connections with the Global South via inclusive trade and investments. This effort includes backing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), collaborating with CARICOM, and implementing responsible foreign direct investment strategies. Canadian organizations and businesses are increasingly engaged in sustainable mining, agriculture, clean energy, and infrastructure, leveraging technology transfer, capacity building, and the development of industrial value chains.

Nevertheless, Canada’s initiatives are open to critique. Stakeholders have raised concerns about the adequacy of its official development assistance (ODA), occasional trade imbalances, and the environmental and social impacts of Canadian extractive industries in certain partner countries. Nonetheless, Canada continues to enhance its engagement by emphasizing co-designed partnerships that align with the priorities and ownership of developing nations.

Looking forward, AI-Group Inc. Holdings has launched the “Canada-Africa Strategic Programs” (CASP) to enhance multidimensional cooperation between Canada and Africa. This flagship project aims to generate new opportunities for inclusive development and strengthen partnerships. The CASP-Mission initiative focuses on fostering collaboration among governments, the private sector, local communities, and diaspora networks to tackle common challenges and support development in the Global South.

Canada’s ongoing involvement in Canada-Africa Economic Cooperation has established a strong foundation for international partnership. Through consistent effort, we seek to promote fair, inclusive, and prosperous futures across the Global South in collaboration with Canada.

Objectives

  1. Promote Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) between Canada and Africa, focusing on infrastructure, renewable energy, agribusiness, mining, healthcare, and digital innovation.
  2. Address policy, governance, and legislative gaps by organizing inter-parliamentary roundtables and institutional retreats.
  3. Encourage the development of African value chains by fostering industrial collaboration, supporting SMEs, and facilitating skills transfer.
  4. Reduce risks in private sector participation by creating a well-designed investment environment that encourages mutual trust and openness.
  5. Improve the visibility of municipal and sub-national authorities by creating forums for governors, premiers, and city mayors to promote local collaborations.

Our Vision

Reorient the global development narrative by emphasizing strategic diplomacy, sustainable investment, and inclusive economic justice, while centering African priorities and Canadian partnerships in the implementation process.

We must be prepared!
